San Diego AIGA LINK Art Program's bright young artists. The art show reception will be one night only at The Pat D'Arrigo ARTS Center at the NTC Promenade.
LINK takes its students on fieldtrips throughout San Diego. Our student's enjoy museum and college tours. Last year the students enjoyed a theatrical play at the Globe "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas". This year's events will sure to be what the City of San Diego has to offer.

LINK had it's orientation for the 2009-2010 year this past October 3rd. The amount of students that attended were 35, there were 7 volunteers.

Students created usable everyday objects from used material- predominantly bicycle and motorcycle inner tubes. The everyday object that they created were wallets, purses, belts, cup holders, pencil holders, etc.

Students Collect images, objects, and quotes that inspire them. Following Mr. Toombs fabric painting techniques, each student personalized their own messenger bag.

Students created a personalized print design on a skateboard deck. Using an outline based on their favorite toy, cartoon character or graphic icon, they filled the negative space using stamps, drawings and/or mixed media techniques.

Students worked with two different photographers: Nick Nacca www.nicknacca.com & Dahna Logan. Nick's group learned how to use studio lights to photograph their packaging design. Dahna's group learned how to use natural light to take portraits. Each student had a chance to work with each photographer.

LINK students collaborated on creating a 40-paneled mural. Each student worked on a one-foot panel for twenty minuets than passed it on to the students next to them. All 40 panels passed through five different students each. The medium was chalk over black one-foot square panels. The kids loved the interaction and showed great teamwork.

LINK students decorated and design munny dolls. The munny dolls come in three base colors (pink, blue, yellow and white). The surface of the munny doll is poris and accepts many different mediums. The students mostly used sharpies and arcylic paints.
